Right across the street from the Union Square, NYC greenmarket.

Stop in, stay a while (or don’t), and take a lap through the market. Grab some flowers… maybe some peaches if they’re still out. 🍑

We were on the subway arguing about how bad we all are at picking gifts, and someone said: why isn’t there a coffee bag with someone’s actual name on it.

So now there is. 4️⃣ designs, 3️⃣ coffees, and a note that’s actually from you.

Barista by day. Actor always.

This September, Emily’s staging a full production of Ordinary Days right here at Waverly.

Four actors. One piano. Thirty seats a night.

Emily’s advice: buy a ticket, tell everyone you know.

Seat on the bench out front.

Baristas know your name. Got your order right, as usual. The day’s just getting started.

Honestly not sure if our birthday’s today, tomorrow, or yesterday. We opened with a cash drawer and dial-up AOL. Aka nobody was writing anything down.

23 years anyway. Same corner. A lot of regulars.

“Never again a coffee without us.” That’s Montze Olvera’s guiding principle and the reason behind Café Feminista.

In 2020, she founded Las Adelitas, a feminist collective in Hidalgo, México, named for the women of the Mexican Revolution. From her farm, she’s built Mexico’s first Rural School of Human Rights for Women, planted 10,000 specialty trees, and trained women across the region to become producers in their own right.

Twenty years ago, James McCarthy was pulling shots at Gimme! Coffee in Ithaca. Roasting came next. Then teaching other people how to do the same.

Now he’s our Director of Roasting — two months in and full of plans, most of them about people. More cuppings. More classes. More of the team getting to geek out on coffee alongside him.

Meet James. Swipe through. 👉

Red, white, and GREEN! 🍓🍵

The holiday weekend is here and it’s a hot one, NYC. Here’s how we’re cooling off:

✨ Strawberry Matcha Popsicles ✨

When we introduced strawberry matcha last summer, it quickly became a crowd fave. It’s fresh, bright, balanced… pretty much everything you want right now. So we turned it into a popsicle with Kettl and .

INGREDIENTS
Green layer: 1 tbsp Kettl matcha, ¾ cup oat milk, 3 tbsp sugar, 2 tbsp plain yogurt
White layer: 1 cup oat milk, 2 tbsp sugar, 2 tbsp plain yogurt
Red layer: 10oz strawberries, 3 tbsp sugar

EQUIPMENT
1 popsicle mold, 10 popsicle sticks

HOW TO
Green: sift the matcha so it doesn’t clump, whisk with oat milk, sugar, and yogurt over medium-high heat until the edges bubble. Cool 20 min, divide into molds, freeze 2 hrs.

White: same move — oat milk, sugar, yogurt in the pan until it bubbles. Cool 20 min, pour over the green, freeze 2 hrs.

Red: purée the strawberries and sugar until smooth. Pour over the white, add your sticks, freeze until solid.

To release, dip the mold in hot water for a few seconds and pull.

Enjoy outside, ideally. 😉

When Ali Forney Center opened on Juneteenth 2002, it had six cots. They filled all of them up that very first night and had to turn twenty kids away.

Twenty years later, it’s still the largest center of its kind in the country. Potentially the world.

Bill put it best, “Pride is more than a parade, it’s a march.” And it doesn’t end when June does.
