You can take the A, B, C, D, E, F, or M train to W 4th St station and walk south on 6th Ave until you reach Macdougal St. Alternatively, you can take the M5 bus from uptown or downtown and get off at W 3rd St/Washington Square Park West stop.
For those driving and looking for parking options in the area, there are several paid parking garages within a few blocks of Macdougal St. One option is Icon Parking Systems located at 179 Thompson St between Bleecker St and Houston St. Another option is GGMC Parking at 175 Bleecker St between Sullivan St and Macdougal St. However, street parking in this area can be hard to come by so taking public transportation may be more convenient.
