What people say
The Cantonese restaurant "C & L Dumpling House" on Chrystie Street, New York has received mixed reviews from various newspapers. The most recent review, published by the New York Times in March 2021, praised their pan-fried pork dumplings and spicy wontons. However, the reviewer also noted that some dishes lacked flavor and depth.
Another review by Eater, published in August 2020, was more critical of the restaurant's dim sum offerings, stating that they were "soggy and dull". The reviewer did note that their noodle dishes were worth trying.
Customer reviews on Yelp echo similar sentiments. One customer stated that the soup dumplings were "the best I've had in NYC", while another commented that some dishes were "hit or miss". Another customer praised the affordable prices but criticized the service.
Overall, it seems that C & L Dumpling House has its strengths and weaknesses. It may be worth trying for their dumplings and noodle dishes but may not necessarily impress with all their offerings.
