Playa Bowls is a health food restaurant and coffee shop chain that originated from New Jersey and now has over 100 locations nationwide, including New York City. They specialize in Acai Bowls, Pitaya Bowls, Green Bowls, Juices, Smoothies, and more. Founded in 2014 by Robert Giuliani and Abby Taylor, both Jersey Shore natives and long-time surfers who were inspired by their surf trips to different countries that offered unique versions of acai or pitaya bowls. Playa Bowls started as a makeshift pop-up stand on Ocean Avenue in Belmar where they educated customers about the benefits of acai. Today, they share their story and passion at numerous stores across the country.
