White grape, bergamot, brown sugar.

For one week of the month, all of our cafés brew a coffee hand picked by our roasting team. This month: Ejo Heza, from Rwanda’s Western province.

James, our director of roasting, walks us through this one. It’s part of our Village series, grown by the Ejoheza Women’s Farming Group, about 470 women farming their own gardens plus a shared plot together.

Part 1 of 2. Part 2 later this week.

Come experience the Village in café this week.

This fall menu has more behind it than you’d think, a staff competition, a new tea from our friends Kettl, and a whole lot of hands that made it happen. Swipe to the end for a little bonus.

Our fall menu is here!! 🍂

Iced maple latte with tahini cold foam. Butter pecan hojicha. Butter pecan cold brew. Apple cinnamon latte. Apple c***r. Pumpkin spice latte.

The shift from August to September. Crisp mornings. Leaves changing. Days that feel like a Nora Ephron movie. When we put this menu together, we wanted a piece of our world in your cup. The nostalgia of the season, the version of fall that’s actually ours.

Let us know which you’re trying first. Or better, come tell us in person.

Much love,
Team Joe

She used to drink decaf just for the taste. Caffeine came later.

Ally’s on Joe’s catering team, moving between pop-ups all over the city. Her favorite jobs are the ones with a full crew: “It’s kind of fun, it’s unpredictable, and you just go in and roll with whatever happens that day.”

Her creation, the Iced Maple Latte with Tahini Cold Foam, hits cafes (tomorrow!!) September 1st. Made with maple syrup, a hint of salt, and tahini, inspired by the pastry cases around the city.

Meet Ally. Swipe through. 👉

SEPTEMBER 1ST! 🤩

08/27/2026

When we first started roasting coffee, we knew we wanted to build this business around people, not just beans.

One relationship with a farmer in Huila, Colombia, Wilmar Guarnizo, has evolved into many relationships that we hold dearly. We now buy coffee from Wilmar, his family, and so many others. The Velosos in Cerrado, Brazil. Montze Olvera and the women of Las Adelitas in Hidalgo, Mexico.

There’s a name behind every single person the coffee touches before it gets to your cup. We’re one of the first roasters live on Siip Coffee, an app that traces your coffee back to the people who grew it. Be curious about who is growing your coffee. Learn their names. Look them all up on the Siip app.

What people say

Joe Coffee Company on W 21st Street in New York is not just any coffee shop, it's a headquarters and pro shop for coffee enthusiasts. The company has recently launched an initiative called "The Village" which celebrates women in the global coffee community. By sourcing seasonally-rotating selections from female producers and cooperatives, Joe Coffee Company is making a positive impact on the industry by investing in women who face steep challenges when it comes to equitable access to career growth, land, education, and credit. Research shows that investing in women increases the sustainability of coffee everywhere as they are more likely to reinvest their income back into their families, their coffee businesses, and their communities. In addition to this initiative, Joe Coffee Company is also doing its part for the environment by introducing new POLLAST!C mailers made entirely from plastic pollution collected from coastal communities in Southeast Asia. This shows that the company is not only focused on producing exceptional coffee but also cares about making a positive impact on society and the environment. If you're looking for a great cup of coffee with a purpose, Joe Coffee Company on W 21st Street is definitely worth checking out.
