Casa Cavia, a cultural destination that includes a restaurant, bar, cafe, wine cellar and flower shop is located in the Palermo Chico area of Buenos Aires. The 1920’s building, originally designed by Norwegian architect Alejandro Christophersen was carefully reworked using sympathetic materials by KallosTurin Architects to create a modern cultural center that still retains all of its original historic charm.

The restaurant is a Michelin-recommended establishment in 2024. Managed by Julieta Caruso, former sous-chef at Mugaritz during 9 years.
Casa Cavia opens from 10 am to 1 am for guests to find breakfast, lunch, tea, dinner and brunch. A land of emotions, perceptions and flavors, each of which you can seize at leisure; simple things speak better than intricate ones and noble things often speak forever.

What people say

Argentinian restaurants are known for their delicious and flavorful cuisine, and Balvanera on Stanton Street in New York City is no exception. This restaurant offers a unique dining experience that captures the essence of Buenos Aires, with a menu that features traditional small plates, vegetable dishes, signature carnes, and friends&family style platos.

What sets Balvanera apart is its attention to detail when it comes to the beverage menu. The selection of new world wines (primarily Argentine), old world gems, and specialty beers is impressive. Guests can enjoy wine by the glass, carafe or bottle - accommodating all budgets. For those who prefer low alcohol libations, Balvanera highlights sherry, vermouth, specialty small batch aperitifs - as well as a Sangria de la Casa.

The ambiance at Balvanera is warm and inviting, with decor that pays homage to the historic ‘barrio’ of Buenos Aires where poets, musicians and creatives once convened. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the menu offerings and will make sure your dining experience is unforgettable.

Overall, Balvanera is a must-visit for anyone looking for an authentic Argentinian dining experience in New York City. From the delicious food to the extensive beverage menu and warm ambiance, this restaurant has it all!
