Happy National Paella Day! Today we celebrate what started it all 🥘✨
In 2008, we brought one of Spain’s most iconic dishes to New York — paella has been at the heart of everything we do ever since. From our first Socarrat Paella Bar in Chelsea to today, we’ve shared a piece of Spain with the city 🇪🇸
Paella facts:
🥄 Origins: Paella was born in 15th–16th century Valencia as a humble farmers’ dish, using ingredients from the fields and the Albufera — like rabbit, chicken, snails, vegetables, and rice.
🌾 Healthy & authentic: No cream, no butter — just wholesome ingredients and the iconic Spanish rice that absorbs all the flavors.
🔥 Order matters: First the sofrito and meats, then the vegetables, then the water and spices, and finally the rice.
