The game has changed! We’ll be introducing a variety of new dumplings from scratch made fresh daily. One of the fillings were playing with is caramelized onion, bacon, cheeseburger. There will be a rotating daily vegetable filling as well (what’s the vegan stance on yeast? Go or no?). We’re hoping to open Wednesday 6/10 but it might be Thursday. Hope to see you all soon.

We emulate our surroundings and “behavior breeds behavior”. It’s now more important than ever to be the change you want to see in the world. One small gesture can have a ripple effect that can impact many lives. We are all going through a very tough time and need to work together to get through this. If nothing else, please try to use kind words and treat your neighbors with dignity and respect.
We will be closed 5/28-6/7 as we need to plan for Hunger Pang 2.0 @ Hunger Pang

So this post comes with reservations, these images feel like a but also a reminder of the reality that is ...
On the other hand, how these images came to be are both beautiful and inspiring. It took PEOPLE, that instead of turning a blind eye, faced ugliness head on. for obvious reasons. those that like that between those that have the resources to support those that need it in more ways than one... again obvious... and ... Here in we are one of the hardest-hit areas in the of this . From the middle of March till the end of April, you heard nothing other than ambulance sirens from the streets. Recently it hasn’t been as loud, but not exactly peaceful...
While putting these meals together, an immigrant woman in her mid-60’s(?) asked if we were giving away free meals. With our food cost budget vs quality of ingredient, it wouldn’t seem as though there was any to spare, we were concerned there wasn’t enough to go around as it was. I couldn’t live with myself denying feeding someone in need, so I made her a portion, meaning the intended portions would go unrecognizably smaller. We were able to feed an additional person at no additional cost!!! I immediately applied this same thinking to the dessert I decided to add to the kids meals for the Cultural Enhancement Center. With the batch I made, instead of 15 5oz portions with leftovers, it stretched to 167 2oz portions of an unexpected for almost everyone we fed today... Please reach out if you know how we can scale this principle up.

“Hospital-ity” feeding nutrient dense meals to keep them going. No skimping on food cost trying to make a buck. Well worth every cent for a momentary distraction full of “flava”! Thank you for taking care of us!!!
