SHEEP + GOAT’S MILK YOGURT STONE, otherwise known as jameed or kishk.

it’s well known at this point how much we love to ferment and preserve at moss but this was a method i’d never heard of before and had to learn more!

as La Boîte describes: “one of the oldest forms of dairy preservation in the world. handmade in small batches by a bedouin cooperative in the eastern mediterranean desert. pure goat and sheep’s milk. salt. sun. nothin else.”

try it today on two farm eggs poached in spinach, chiles and herbs!

we’re just revving up over here with some exciting news…

we are so happy to share that itta werdiger, a well-known farm-to-table chef, has joined the moss team

and just in time

the nine days, which is a period of deep reflection in the jewish calendar, is also a time for vegetarian food to take center stage. (vegetables happen to be one of itta’s passions)

To get to Johnson Avenue in New York, you can take the subway and get off at the 231st St. Station (1 train). From there it’s a short walk to Johnson Avenue.

If you prefer driving, take the Henry Hudson Parkway to exit 22 for W 253rd St/Broadway. Turn onto W 253rd St and continue straight onto Johnson Ave. There is a limited amount of street parking available around Johnson Avenue.
