This weekend marks 11 years as Baba’s Pierogies operating out of a brick and mortar in Brooklyn! We have this sweet photo to mark the exciting occasion😍Today we have two awesome locations to celebrate with all of you, Gowanus AND Sunset Park 🎉 Thank you for jumping on our pierogi train and always rooting for us! We love you all! 💖

We have these because doordash has selected us for free bags! They gave us a lot of them. We gladly accepted: 1. Now we can get a break from buying bags, woohoo! 2. Despite it being “free”, I’d say we earned it. What can I say, we rely on these platforms because they are very popular. The reality is, the caps have been lifted and we are back to paying up to 30% per check. You’ve heard it a million times. Not only are we paying fees but you as the customer are as well. Order directly from us! We have an ordering link directly on our website for both pick up and delivery and I bet we deliver as far as some of you are ordering from! Give it a try 👍

Why do we have blueberry pierogies on the menu? In our babas village, Litmanová, blueberries grow wild everywhere! Tiny and bursting with sweet flavor. The kind that stain your fingers and mouth as you eat them 🫐 Available in both locations, regular or vegan!

Our Sunset Park location (4413 6th Ave, BK) combines all the things we love about our Gowanus shop in addition to this amazing portrait of our baba, Julia. The portrait was painted by a New York based Slovak artist, Ján Pečarka, who was able to take a photo of her and bring it to life. The vest she is wearing is part of the traditional dress called kroj from her hometown, Litmanová. The kroj symbolizes a connection to our roots and is often passed down through the generations.

💖Vitajte u nás💖 is a common phrase in Slovakia and to me means more than just welcome. It isn’t in the words, but in the emotion implied, which I can best describe as a warm hug and happy vibes! These feelings all translated into this past weekend! WOW 🤩 What a weekend we had💥 Thank you to everyone that made it down to our new location and helped us bless this special space with your love, excitement and happiness ❤️ I don’t think we’ve even had a chance to process it all! What people say
European restaurants are known for their delicious and authentic cuisine, and Baba's Pierogies on 3rd Avenue in New York is no exception. Since opening its doors in 2015, Baba's Pierogies has gained a reputation for serving up some of the best Eastern European food in the city. Featured in publications such as Edible Magazine, Cheapeats 2015 New Yorker Mag, TimeOut, Grubstreet, DNAinfo, and ParkSlo, it's clear that this restaurant is a favorite among locals and visitors alike.
One of the standout dishes at Baba's Pierogies is their creamy guava-filled pierogies. These plant-based pierogies are deep-fried to perfection and topped with powdered sugar and a strawberry glaze. They're just one example of the creative twists that Baba's puts on traditional Eastern European cuisine.
Another thing that sets Baba's Pierogies apart is their commitment to honoring their heritage. The restaurant was founded by baba Julia, who arrived in Sunset Park unable to speak the language or find familiar ingredients. This forced her outside of her comfort zone and led to the creation of the beloved Baba's Potato pierogi - made with American cheese.
Whether you're looking for a quick bite during happy hour or a sit-down meal with family and friends, Baba's Pierogies has something for everyone. With walk-ins welcome and online ordering available for pick-up or delivery, there's no excuse not to give this fantastic restaurant a try.
