So, our saga with getting access to the funds appropriated for small businesses like us at the epicenter of pandemic closures - that saga came to a predictable yet very disappointing conclusion.
Brief history - we, as a small business, are entitled to apply for PPP loans appropriated by Congress.
Application process was handled by respective banks. Our business account is with Citi.
During the whole month of April NO APPLICATION was made available to us, despite us following all directions on the website and repeated inquires online.
Since last week, I’ve been visiting Citi branches in attempt to get access to application process, with no avail.
Today, a Citibank employee on 34th st told me to my face today that “THERE IS NOTHING HE CAN DO”, without even lifting a finger or trying to escalate the situation to superiors.
While we are scrambling to stay afloat and doing our best to serve meals to essential workers,
completely failed to serve our small business - as we were never even ABLE TO APPLY for the PPP loan , and seemingly has no intention to try and remedy its failing. Apparently we are not important enough to make an effort.
