This is the hardest post we have ever had to write. After 32 plus years in business, December 31st will be our last night of business.
We are unable to negotiate a rental agreement with our landlord that we can actually afford to pay. Their demands are beyond what we are able to make because the conditions of the space are completely unacceptable and untenable. They have had to do work on the building for over 4 years and have done nothing. Their stopgap repairs have made it impossible for us to make any repairs of our own on the space.
These factors plus their demands for rent and the increased competition in the neighborhood by bigger restaurant groups has made staying open not something we are able to do.
We would love to thank all of our family, friends and great customers for all of your support over the years and we truly love you all.
We don’t know what the next steps are going to be but we will let you all know what we have planned for the future when we figure it out.
The memories made on our small corner of Greenwich Village will always live with us forever.
