The Mermaid Inn was a seafood and American restaurant located on Amsterdam Avenue. The establishment embodied the casual atmosphere of a traditional New England fish shack with its warm and stylish decor. In 2020, the restaurant temporarily closed due to health concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite efforts to support their staff through an Employee Relief Fund campaign, The Mermaid Inn permanently closed its doors.

For public transport, take the subway to the 79th Street station on the 1 line. From there, walk west towards Amsterdam Avenue.
For driving, take either the Henry Hudson Parkway or the West Side Highway to 79th Street. Turn onto Amsterdam Avenue and look for parking along the street or in nearby parking garages.
Both restaurants are located on Amsterdam Avenue between 79th and 80th Streets.
