Brazilian-born DJ FABIO BILL grew up in beautiful Rio de Janeiro to the sounds of Ginga (Brazilian rhythms) Samba among other popular genres of his native country, along with house music. Fabio moved to the U.S. in 2000 and has played alongside such names as John Digweed, Danny Tenaglia, Roger Sanchez, Josh Wink, Green Velvet, Adam Beyer, Deep-Dish, to name a few. He was resident DJ for Chic-LA in Los Angeles. He then moved to New York, where he played at Pacha NYC and other clubs he has shared the decks with Pete Moss, Honey Dijon, Sharam, John Howard, Janel Roland, among others.
MESTRE CARIOCA was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. At the age of 10, he started to play capoeira. He was trained by the very skilled and respected master Capixaba of the ABADA-Capoeira group. Carioca was involved in a program for street children with the Institute of the Well-Being for Minors Organization (IESBEM) using Capoeira as a pedagogical, artistic, and cultural resource to rescue many children from the streets. In 1997, Carioca left Brazil, accepting a proposal in Texas to work teaching capoeira at public schools and communities through "Project Bridge" in Texas. Then he went to New York City in 1998, he performed at the Victory Theater N.Y.C. with the "Force of Nature" Company. He was granted approval by the U.S. government for permanent residence, based upon his life's work within capoeira and as a performance artist. Carioca has performed for stars such as Diana Ross, Jon Bon Jovi and others. He was part of the Nike campaign for alternative sports.
Carioca passions are teaching capoeira and playing samba music.
