Tzarevna

Tzarevna Tzarevna was an Asian restaurant that was home to Yo + Shoku, a Japanese-style Western Kitchen and Bar. However, it later became a Russian Zakuski Wine Bar in October 2019 and was renamed Tzarevna. Owned by Ricky Dolinsky and his wife Mariia, the restaurant aimed to bring Russian culture and fine cuisine to New Yorkers without succumbing to cliches such as vodka shots and potatoes. Mariia ensured that guests experienced authentic Russian hospitality, while Ricky cooked up a creative menu inspired by Georgian and natural wines. Unfortunately, Tzarevna has been permanently closed now.

What people say

Asian restaurants are known for their unique and flavorful dishes that leave a lasting impression on your taste buds. Tzarevna, located in Orchard Street, New York, is an Asian restaurant that stands out from the rest with its exceptional Russian cuisine. Established in April 2019, Tzarevna started as a pop-up wine bar called "There" and later evolved into a Russian Zakuski Wine Bar.

The owners of Tzarevna, Ricky Dolinsky and his wife Mariia, have done an excellent job of bringing Russian culture and fine cuisine to New Yorkers while defying stereotypes. The heart of the restaurant is the kitchen where Ricky works tirelessly to create delicious and creative dishes that are sure to impress even the most discerning palate.

Mariia's upbringing in Russia has given her first-hand knowledge of what true Russian hospitality means. She serves as an authenticity guide for the restaurant and also makes delectable desserts that are a perfect end to any meal.

Tzarevna is one-of-a-kind Russian wine bar serving Zakuski, which can be best described as Russian tapas or small plates. The menu has an emphasis on Georgian and natural wines, breaking the stereotype that Russian food is only to be paired with vodka.

Overall, Tzarevna is a must-visit destination for anyone looking for a unique dining experience in New York City. The combination of exceptional food, great service, and warm hospitality make it stand out from other Asian restaurants in the area.
