It’s hard to believe that tomorrow will be one month since Dad’s passing. It still feels surreal. As a family, of course we are still reminiscing about Dad but what we absolutely spend most of our time talking about is how thoughtful, generous and kind all of you have been throughout the days. All the flowers, vestments, cards, prayers, comments, compliments, memories and endless stories have been amazing. We are honored and humbled by it all and we can’t thank you enough. Please accept all our love and appreciation to friends, neighbors and community far and wide. Truly inspiring. ❤️🇮🇪🍀🇺🇸

It is with a heavy heart and a great sadness that we share the passing of Terry Connaughton, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and pillar of both our family and community. Born in Athleague, Co. Roscommon, Dad carried his deep love of Irish heritage and the GAA with him to New York, where he became a lifelong leader and champion of Gaelic games. Beyond his remarkable contributions to the Irish community, Dad proudly served in the U.S. Army and spent 20 years with the NYPD before taking over the Riverdale Steak House in 1979, where for 47 years he built not just a business, but a home for so many. Together with his beloved wife Anne, they raised five children and created a legacy defined by generosity, community and a love for all things Irish. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on in the countless lives he touched but none more than the fourteen grandchildren who were blessed to call him “Grandpa & Papa”. Like his own children, he was their hero, their legend; softly and without fanfare.

Wake to be held Friday 4/24 from 3-8pm at Riverdale-On-Hudson Funeral Home. Funeral to be held at St. Margaret’s Church on Saturday 4/25 at 9am.
