Amaru Pisco Bar is a unique and authentic lounge, tapas bar, and restaurant that pays homage to the history and culture of Peru. The name "Pisco" comes from the Quechua language spoken by the Incas, which means birds. The coastal area of Ica in Peru is known for its clear blue skies where these birds fly freely. The Piskos civilization, who were great potters during the 1400s, made clay recipients called "piskos" to store liquid, particularly Chicha, a fermented maize drink used as alcohol by the Incas. When the Spaniards arrived and brought grapes to the new world, they used these piskos to store their grape spirit which eventually took on the name of the recipient.
At Amaru Pisco Bar, guests can experience this rich history through their extensive selection of Piscos and Peruvian-inspired tapas dishes. The ambiance is warm and inviting with dim lighting and cozy seating arrangements perfect for a night out with friends or a romantic date. The staff is knowledgeable about their menu offerings and are happy to make recommendations based on individual preferences.
The menu at Amaru Pisco Bar features an array of delicious tapas dishes such as ceviche mixto, empanadas de carne, and anticuchos de pollo (grilled chicken skewers). Their signature cocktails are also not to be missed with options like La Cholita made with pisco quebranta, passion fruit puree, lime juice, egg white foam, and angostura bitters.
Overall, Amaru Pisco Bar offers a unique dining experience that transports guests to Peru through their food and drink offerings while celebrating its rich cultural heritage.
