Vinum nyc Vinum NYC is a wine bar and Italian restaurant located in New York. Executive Chef and restaurateur Massimo Felici brings his passion for food and years of experience to the menu, featuring dishes inspired by his time working in fine Italian establishments such as Cipriani's, Giambelli, and Da Umberto. After honing his skills in Florence, he returned to New York where he opened Ribollita, a trattoria that received praise from notable publications. Sadly, La Nonna was forced to close after 9/11. Vinum NYC continues to offer authentic Italian cuisine with an extensive wine list.

A note from our Executive Chef Felici Massimo

Hello everyone,

We at VINUM want to thank you for the wonderful years that my neighborhood and custumers have given us here in Stapleton. we opened this small Tuscan Trattoria 7 years ago and it took me almost one year to personally help building it along with my friend Steve the carpenter…..I modeled this little jewel to my first Restaurant I opened in Firenze Italy in 1993 called “Il Canapone”.
I liked this part of the Island so much that I then opened, with my partners The Richmond across the street, which I than sold my shares to them to open Don Cheech in Rosebank and to double down on the north shore I ended up buying a house in Stapleton on Bay Street so I am a true north shore guy and I strongly believe in the potential of this part of the island 100%. With that said unfortunately VINUM will shut it’s doors this thanksgiving weekend.
We been working hard to stay open first through the pandemic and now through an additional pandemic in the name of Inflation, cost of goods, utilities, higher insurance rates and employment….everything has risen so fast in such a short time and the combination of all this has taken us to a almost a 5 year struggle, something which it’s hitting the whole island. The biggest struggle tho with all this has been the feedback of many of my custumers telling me they don’t feel safe coming to see me where I’m located they don’t like what they see in the streets they simply don’t feel safe and I cannot ignore that any longer and I cannot wait for the perception to change because it has hurt me financially to the point that we had to make the decision to say goodbye.
Myself and my wonderful staff will be working hard to keep Don Cheech going in the section of beautiful Rosebank and I hope to see everyone there.
Many of my Custumer’s have become family friends…. VINUM was my home and I want everyone to come and say goodbye to this place with me and my other family which it’s my staff and share a glass of wine or two together.
You will see my staff working at Don Cheech including my kitchen I am going to make sure that they all have a job when VINUM is gone and I’m going to try to take them all with me to Don Cheech and Casa Belvedere.

To reach the wine bar and Italian restaurant on Bay Street in New York, the following directions can be followed:

Option 1: Public transport

Take the subway to Bay St Station. From there, walk towards Bay Street until you reach your destination.

Option 2: Driving

If driving from downtown Manhattan, take FDR Drive South and continue onto Battery Park Underpass. Take the exit toward West Street/World Trade Center and turn left onto West St. Continue straight onto Trinity Pl then turn right onto Rector St. Turn left onto Broadway before turning right onto Whitehall St. Slight left toward State St then continue straight onto Battery Maritime Building/Ferry Terminal. Take the ferry to Bay Ridge/Sunset Park and follow signs to Bay Ridge Ave/Bay Ridge Pkwy. Turn right onto Shore Rd then turn right onto 4th Ave. Take a left on Bay Ridge Ave until you reach your destination.
