I'd like to lie to you and say "Look, you'll see the original La Mela on the left side of the picture" but we all know we are ONLY 40 years young. BUT!!! Can you guess which block this is (hint...it's Mulberry) but WHERE on Mulberry. Is it A. Between Canal and Hester. B. Between Hester and Grand or C. Between Grand and Broome. GUESS!!!! I'll reveal the answer in 48 hours. OH Yah, can come though this weekend! We'll be there and we have your table ready. (PS The building that is the bright on on the right side is still wonderfully standing and should be your landmark to help you make the correct guess!)

Current Obsession!!! The fried zucchini! Have you tried it yet? WHAT THE HECK? When was the last time you were here? Do you even know we have NEW menu items?? Come on now, I thought we were friends? Stop! You call yourself "a friend" when you missed our birthday, anniversary and the big promotion? We aren't "upset" we are "disappointed". We will let it all slide if you just come through this weekend. We'll get your table ready...as long as you call us or book it on open table! See you this weekend!

It is a BEAUTIFUL day here on Mulberry Street! A bit nippy, but you can handle it. Come warm up with a nice Chianti and a bowl of fresh fettuccine alfredo (throw in some shrimp or grilled chicken if you are feeling frisky!). See you at La Mela 167 Mulberry between Grand and Broome!

Woke up to a car meet like none I’ve seen before. The car owners gathered in front of La Mela and shot the $hit with each other for hours. You should have been there!! See. This is the type of stuff you miss when you don’t come by enough.

Shhhhh...don't tell anyone but we have secret menu items. For example, this is Steak Contedina. Fresh New York Strip Steak with slow roasted red peppers, sweet italian sausage, chuncks of roasted chicken, perfectly cooked in garlic with fresh parsley. You won't see it on the menu, but if you ask, we got your back (and belly). Looking for something your grandma used to make? Ask for Benny or Paulie, tell them what you're looking for and let's see if we can make it happen for you. Our chefs have 30 PLUS years cookin in OUR kitchen. We are good people here at La Mela and our staff will happily agree!

When was the last time you visited? We are getting worried about you. You met that new (man/woman) who always wants to go to that (mexican/greek/chinese) restaurant that they love and you just go... like we don't even exist. When do YOU get to choose date night? Why don't you finally tell them the truth, that you are in love with our Chicken Parm...... oh is that is? You don't want (him/her) to meet your other NYC restaurant family and find out about the real love of your (food) life? Seriously, after all these years. Ugh. Fine! We love you anyway, but come by for a visit soon. We miss your face.
