We were so honored to host Dr. Howard Israel present his brand new book this week. It was so incredible to listen to him speak about his findings on his favorite anatomy book he used before surgeries. It was a stunning moment for him and turned him to start his long journey to research how the anatomy book came out.
We hope you will pick up a copy and read about his journey.

Rugelach! If there was a holy trinity of Ashkenazi Jewish desserts it would be rugelach, the beloved babka, and black and white cookies.
Agree? Let us know if you think otherwise.
’s are made with matcha and a chocolate and adzuki bean swirl. Probably not how you’ve had them before, and definitely not how your grandma made them. Limited quantity available during the day, and as a great way to end your meal .

What people say
Japanese restaurants are known for their exquisite cuisine and unique flavors. Shalom Japan, located on S 4th Street in New York, takes this to a whole new level with their authentically inauthentic Jewish and Japanese food. The restaurant is a collaboration between Chefs Sawako Okochi and Aaron Israel, who have created a menu that combines the best of both worlds.
One of the standout dishes at Shalom Japan is their gefilte takoyaki, which perfectly blends Jewish and Japanese flavors. The homemade matzoh is also a must-try, especially during Passover season. But it's not just about the fusion dishes - the traditional Japanese dishes are equally impressive. The oodles of noodles dish is a crowd favorite, while the sushi rolls are always fresh and delicious.
The restaurant itself has a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, with friendly staff who are happy to make recommendations from the menu. And if you're lucky enough to visit during brunch or dinner with your mother, you'll be treated to a special experience that you won't forget.
Shalom Japan also offers a cookbook called Love Japan, which features some of their most popular recipes. And if you're looking for something extra special, keep an eye out for events like book signings or bathroom makeovers (yes, really!).
Overall, Shalom Japan is a unique and exciting addition to the New York dining scene. Whether you're in the mood for traditional Japanese cuisine or something more adventurous, this restaurant has something for everyone.
