Bittersweet is a charming coffee shop located on Dekalb Avenue in New York that has quickly become a favorite among locals. The shop serves La Colombe coffee, which is known for its rich and smooth taste. In addition to coffee, Bittersweet also offers house-made sandwiches and pastries that are sure to satisfy any craving.
One of the things that sets Bittersweet apart from other coffee shops is their commitment to supporting the local community. They have been making snacks for Michelle, a beloved Fort Greene dog treat lady, and donating the proceeds to her Go Fund Me page to help pay her medical bills. They also sent positive thoughts to the local person who makes the dog treats when they were in quarantine.
Bittersweet's dedication to customer satisfaction is evident in their new screen in the shop window that displays what pastries and sandwiches are currently available so customers don't have to wait in line only to find out their favorite item is sold out. Everything they sell is made on-site except for the delicious dog treats!
The heart of Bittersweet lies with Adriana and Aurora, who have been with the shop for 15 years and are known for cooking up Mexican specialties on Sundays from 4-7 pm in front of the shop. This event is not to be missed by anyone looking for authentic Mexican cuisine.
Lastly, Bittersweet showed their generosity by handing out free cold brew and sandwiches at Fort Green Park as a way of giving back to their community. Overall, Bittersweet is more than just a coffee shop; it's a place where people can come together over great food and drinks while supporting each other through tough times.
