For more than 12 years, Michelle has been a dedicated member of the Art Advisory Board for the Coalition for the Homeless. In 2020, she launched and curated the Artist Plate Project, an initiative that has since partnered with over 150 world-renowned artists to create limited-edition, artist-designed dinner plates. To date, the project has raised over $8 million in support of the Coalition’s life-saving programs.
For ARTWALK NY 2025, Michelle has envisioned a bold new chapter for the Artist Plate Project: a collaboration with 100 artists to produce 100 original, one-of-a-kind plates. ARTWALK NY 2025 is thrilled to recognize as this year’s artist honoree. Sheree has been an ongoing supporter of the Coalition for the Homeless, contributing to their efforts to support and advocate for New Yorkers experiencing homelessness.
More about Sheree. Sheree is an Iranian-born, New York-based artist whose multidisciplinary practice combines photography, sculpture, and collage to explore themes of identity, the body, and materiality. Her layered, sculptural compositions incorporate tactile materials and photographic elements, creating works that blur the boundaries between object and image, offering an embodied experience of photography.
Her work was featured in the 59th International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, The Milk of Dreams, curated by Cecilia Alemani.
Hovsepian’s work is held in the permanent collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Bronx Museum, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, and the Everson Museum of Art, among others. She currently lives and works in New York City.
