What people say
Sardi's Restaurant on W 44th Street in New York is a true gem of American and Italian cuisine. But it's not just the food that makes Sardi's special - it's the history and atmosphere that make this restaurant a must-visit for anyone in the theatrical district. Since its founding by Vincent and Eugenia Sardi in 1921, Sardi's has been a hub for Broadway stars and theater-goers alike. In fact, many plays have been written and financed entirely at Sardi's, and hit shows have celebrated their opening at this iconic establishment.
One of the most unique features of Sardi's is its collection of caricatures adorning the walls. Started during the Great Depression as a way to increase business, these caricatures have become one of Sardi's world-famous trademarks. Drawn by artists such as Alex Gard, Bob Macky, Don Bevan, and currently Richard Baratz, these caricatures immortalize some of the biggest names in show business.
But it's not just about the history - Sardi's continues to thrive today thanks to its commitment to treating all guests like stars. Whether you're a celebrity or an ordinary person, you'll feel welcomed and appreciated at this classic New York restaurant. So if you're looking for delicious food with a side of Broadway history, be sure to visit Sardi's Restaurant on W 44th Street.
