Are you a pour over person? Do you want to be? Here’s how we make it at home.

What you need:
Pour over dripper
Decanter
Paper filter
Scale
Gooseneck kettle
Grinder
Your favorite Birch coffee

Step 1: Grind your coffee to medium coarse. It should look like sea salt.

Step 2: The ratio is 1 part coffee to 15 parts water. Weigh out 30 grams of coffee.

Step 3: Bring your water to a boil, then let it cool for 30 seconds — about 203°F.

Step 4: Place your filter and rinse it with hot water to get rid of the paper taste. Discard the rinse water.

Step 5: Add your 30 grams of coffee and gently shake to level the grounds. Four pours total.
Pour 1: 120 grams in an outward spiral. Let it bloom for 30 seconds — this lets the gasses escape and brings out the flavor.
Pour 2: another 120 grams, same spiral, steady and even. Wait 30 seconds.
Pour 3: repeat.
Pour 4: once the water’s passed through the top layer, pour the rest for a total of 450–500 grams.

Step 6: When it stops dripping, remove the dripper, discard the grounds, and enjoy.

Save this for your next brew day ☕ Grab a bag through the link in bio.
