Our ofrenda is set and we are ready for Dia de los Mu***os 💀♥️ A traditional Mexican holiday, it is a two day holiday to celebrate life, death, and family, honoring the lives of those who have passed and believing their spirits return to visit. Families build ofrendas (altars) to welcome the souls, often decorated with marigolds, candles, and personal items. The holiday is joyful, featuring colorful decorations, music, parades, and feasts, and is a time for remembering and celebrating the deceased. Come celebrate with us! 🎊🎉🌼🌟🪇 Flowers by

Jovani Peralta, Chavela’s bar manager, on his inspiration for this seasons’s Day of the Dead cocktail: “Growing up October/ November my house always smelled like mandarines, pears and other freshly cut fruit. My family would always put them out on the ofrenda. I would sometimes steal the fruit from it and my favorite was mandarines. This cocktail is called Recuerdame because like many of my other cocktails for every sip you take I want to remember a special moment. For me I was inspired by my late father who passed away when I was 3 and the mandarin smell always reminds me of him. This one is very special, hopefully you can come and try it”. 🍹 🍊

Mezcalero meet-up with Reynaldo Alejandro of 5 Sentidos! 🤝 The plant pictured here was found way up in the mountains growing for at least 20 years and weighed almost a ton. Reynaldo transported it down himself to be made into the Mezcal you see here! He and his team smash the agave by hand to extract the juice.
Reynaldo produces Cinco Sentidos from various agaves, some of which are a blend of sierra negra agave and cucharilla plant. The sierra negra is rich in flavor and sweet while the cucharilla is bitter so he created this blend to find the perfect balance.
Join us for a pour or more of today! 🤩
