Mary's Bar on 5th Avenue is a must-visit for anyone looking for a great night out in New York. The bar has a rich history and loyal following, with many patrons raving about the amazing staff. The bartenders at Mary's are truly special - they are part bouncer, part pool shark, part plumber, part best friend, and all killer bartender. They know how to make the perfect drink and always remember where your coaster is!
One bartender in particular, Steve AKA Farrah, held every job at Mary's and was an absolute legend. He won pool tournaments, ran pool tournaments, held band practice in the basement for his band Yellow Bells, and was always there to lend a helping hand. Another original Mary's bartender, Butch, held down the best Friday late night pool party in the Slope for five years straight - he was a rock! And let's not forget Mele - she was part counselor, part pool shark, part decorator and all-around amazing.
Aside from the incredible staff, Mary's also boasts some fantastic bathroom art by Kep that you won't want to miss. Whether you're looking for a fun night out with friends or just want to grab a drink after work, Mary's Bar is definitely worth checking out.
