It is with a heavy heart that we announce that one of our beloved sound engineers, Jack O’Hara, has passed away.
He was loved by all the musicians, customers, and staff alike. A gentleman through and through, he knew the ins and outs of how to get the most out of a band. He was also an unbelievable musician himself. If you’ve never checked out his band, “Eggs Over Easy”, they had quite a reputation in swinging London back in the 70’s. And, Jack had the stories to go along with it.
He was working with us right up to the end of February when he took a break for what he thought was just back pain. When the doctors checked him out they found cancer in his lungs, which had already started spreading throughout his body. As a dedicated sound engineer, right up to the first week of May, Jack told us that he would be back at work by June. But, the cancer got aggressive and there was nothing the doctors could do.
Please say a prayer, hug your loved ones, and make sure you get checked out regularly by doctors. F**k cancer.
Rest in peace Jack. Thank you for everything.

HUGE NEWS! We are very proud to announce that we have been named a 2026 Village Award Winner by the Village Preservation Society! It will be presented at the 36th Annual Village Awards on Wednesday, June 10th at Cooper Union’s Great Hall.
We want to thank the Preservation Society, all of the customers throughout the years, and every single owner and worker at 11th St. Bar since the opening in 1997.
I tell anyone that will listen that it is a very special place. I truly believe that 11th St. Bar is the greatest neighborhood bar, in the greatest neighborhood on Earth. Cheers!

You may have seen this jersey hanging at the bar recently. Two seasons ago, we were approached to sponsor a new team in the Bowery Premier League called East Village FC.
Well the guys are just fantastic people and players as well! They have just finished their second undefeated season and earned their second promotion.
Give them a like and a follow over at eastvillage.fc and check out the jersey next time you are here. You can see the map of the east village in the background!

One of our many cool little corners of this bar. This mirror is referred to as “Brendan’s Mirror” after the original owner of 11th St. Bar, and the one that added it to the bar, Brendan O’Reilly. The mirror makes everyone look better, and that’s a fact.
