What people say
The White Horse Tavern on Hudson Street in New York City is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience a piece of history. Established in 1880, it is the second oldest continuously run bar in the city and has retained much of its original charm. The tavern was originally popular with longshoremen working along the Hudson River, but it soon became a hub for writers and artists in the 1950s. Dylan Thomas, one of the most renowned patrons, found the tavern reminiscent of his favorite haunts in Wales.
The bar's original woodwork and tin ceiling have been preserved, making it a landmark site that transports visitors back in time. The White Horse Tavern has hosted some of the most influential people in jazz, folk, and rock music scenes over the years.
Whether you're looking to enjoy a drink or simply soak up some history, The White Horse Tavern is an excellent choice. We highly recommend stopping by to experience this iconic establishment for yourself!
