"These last few months have been a roller coaster! Figuring out how to pivot, explore other revenue streams, help those around you, and grow community, in a seemingly isolated environment, has been a challenge. However, we've been able to hold on to our core mission to help guide us through this time. The word 'lakou' ultimately symbolizes community in Haitian Creole. I'm excited that folks are now working to balance the scales of justice and this has even extended to commerce. If this continues, I'm certain that we will definitely come out of COVID-19 stronger than ever." - Cassandre Davilmar, Owner We put together a growing collection of Black-owned businesses in Brooklyn so you can .
