I thought it was just a reservation change.

Dana called Neir’s to move brunch a little earlier and add two people. When her group arrived, she walked over.

“My mom, Regina, had her 100th birthday here last year.”

Then I remembered. The birthday tiara. That middle table. I’d taken her picture because it meant so much that she chose our little tavern for that milestone.

I joked that being at a place approaching 200 years old probably made her feel young. Dana laughed.

Then she told me they had just come from Regina’s funeral.

Two more people wanted to visit where her mom had celebrated her 100th birthday. That was why she’d changed the reservation.

Regina would have turned 101 in three weeks. Dana gave me permission to share this photo.

Let's wish Regina, Happy early 101st birthday in heaven.

Her family now has a place to return to and remember her final birthday.

Thank you to our Ambassadors, volunteers, and guests for helping keep Neir’s open so memories like these have a home.

Who would have thought a little tavern days from closure 17 years ago would now be listed among the top 100 small businesses in America?

This wouldn’t be possible without the entire customer community!

The Neirs ambassadors, regulars, volunteers, strategic partners, current and former staff. Everyone contributed to get to this point on the road to 200.

It’s often advertised people should support local businesses and shop local.

On an early Saturday morning Neir’s Ambassador Liam Castro invited Neir’s Tavern supporters to show there are more than one way to support local businesses. He organized another Amazing Neir’s Tavern Halloween decoration party.

This was more than decorating one of America’s oldest community taverns, it was creating a sense of community in a time it’s needed most. IRL.

A sense of belonging around a historic tavern that almost closed. A reminder we all can do something.

Although it’s super important people come here for lunch and dinner so we can reach 200 years in 2029, this was a priceless action showing action speaks volume.

Thank you Liam, Neir’s Ambassadors and all the volunteers! I hope everyone made some great friends and thank you for your contributions towards the NEIR’S ROAD TO 200 Journey.
