A picnic, a slow afternoon, and cascara in the glass.
Cascara is made from the dried skin of the coffee cherry. The fruit that surrounds the seed we roast as coffee. Once separated and dried, it can be brewed into a light, refreshing drink with a naturally fruit-forward character. Served sparkling at the café, it’s an easy companion for warm days, shared boards, and a little time outside. ☕️🧺

Honduras Cerro Bueno, in the cup. Grown by Omar Acosta in San José, La Paz, this coffee comes from the Montecillos mountain range. The farm holds the Café Marcala Denomination of Origin, a designation that recognizes the region’s distinctive quality and coffee heritage.
Each cherry is handpicked, processed with an ecopulper, dry fermented, washed, and mechanically dried before resting in parchment. This is a careful process that helps preserve sweetness, structure, and clarity.
In the cup, expect brown butter, nutty praline, and light citrus.

A little look back at the past few weeks with Afficionado! From the New Jersey Wine & Food Festival to the JBWS Grand Tasting, Carbone Beach, and our spring photo shoot..it’s been a busy, beautiful stretch of events, travel, coffee, and community.

To get to the location on 11th Avenue in New York, you can take the subway and get off at the 34th Street-Hudson Yards station. From there, walk west on 34th Street towards 11th Avenue. Alternatively, you can take a bus that stops at the corner of 11th Avenue and West 37th Street.
If you prefer to drive, there are several parking garages in the area, including one on West 36th Street between 10th and 11th Avenues. However, be aware that parking in this area can be expensive and difficult to find during peak hours.
