The restaurant features a cozy, intimate Tudor Hacienda décor with an enormous disco ball plated with 10,000 pennies hanging over the dining room. Bodega Negra's menu offers a variety of small plates such as fresh ceviches, tacos, salads, as well as more generously proportioned dishes like Roasted Chile Rellano, Lamb Barbacoa Tacos and Carne Asade. Mexican restaurants are known for their vibrant atmosphere, bold flavors, and delicious dishes. Bodega Negra at Dream Downtown in New York City is no exception. From the moment you step inside, you'll be transported to a cozy and intimate Tudor Hacienda-style dining room that's adorned with antique tequila barrels and an enormous disco ball plated with 10,000 pennies.
Executive Chef Michael Armstrong has collaborated with Chef de Cuisine Victor Santibanez to create an upscale Mexican menu that's perfect for sharing. The small plates like fresh ceviches, tacos, and salads are just as delicious as the generously proportioned dishes like Roasted Chile Rellano, Lamb Barbacoa Tacos, and Carne Asade. One of the recent menu additions is the Fiesta Suprema - a three-tiered tower of Mexican street food that includes assorted antojitos, ceviches, raw bar offerings, and creative snacks like Mexican corn rolled in crushed Flamin' Hot Cheetos.
The handcrafted mezcal and tequila cocktails are also a must-try at Bodega Negra. The Smoked Ancho Daiquiri made with Creyente Mezcal, Ancho Chili Liquor, Luxardo Maraschino, orange and angostura bitters is a unique twist on a classic cocktail. The El Diablo made with Milagro Silver tequila, Creme de Cassis, fresh lime juice and candied ginger is another favorite among patrons.
And last but not least - don't forget to save room for dessert! The Don Huevo is a molten chocolate cake encased in a white chocolate sphere that deflates when hot caramel sauce is poured over it - it's truly an experience in itself.
Overall, Bodega Negra at Dream Downtown offers an unforgettable dining experience that combines exceptional food with a lively atmosphere. It's definitely worth checking out if you're in the area!
