"I went for dinner recently and the host and waiter were pleasant and accommodating. Not much of a beer selection but they have a nice Malbec. Ambiance-wise, this place is spot on. Sexy dim lighting, rustic wordly feel and unpretentious euro/American crowd looking to enjoy this laid back space a bit off the beaten path (it's on Canal and Ludlow nearing Two Bridges territory.) Another plus? Really nice-sized portions on the mains." Consumer's review from New York Magazine.

You don’t have to be able to pronounce korhogofefemougou to appreciate succulent steak marinated in Ivory Coast spices—just one of the twists on bargain-bistro classics at this Lower East Side lair with a French-colonial feel. Duet of duck pairs a meaty breast with shredded confit. Muqueca, the Brazilian seafood-coconut-milk stew, is loaded with plump shrimp and served with a steaming bowl of white rice. Tropical-tasting cocktails are well balanced and perfectly refreshing, and an unobtrusive D.J. plays captivating world music at neighbor-friendly decibels. — Rob Patronite and Robin Raisfeld from NY Magazine.
