5 years ago we signed the lease for Sami (or “the Sus,” as some people are apparently calling it). We thought it would take us about three months to open the doors, and eventually we did — in August 2021.
5 years sounds like a serious amount of time for such a small spot. This August, we’re celebrating with a month-long series of festivities featuring some of our classic dishes, wines, and even a daytime event bringing back the lunch menu from the days when we used to do lunch ourselves (now we have for that purpose!).
Thank you, everyone, for all the love and support along the way. Stay tuned for our new spring v2 menu coming later this week, and for the full summer festivities calendar — lots of fun things in the works ❤️

It’s been a couple of years now since we had the idea to marinate our half chicken in harissa () and Greek yogurt.
We roast it in the oven, let it rest, roast it again, then finish it on the grill and serve it over tzatziki.
It’s now basically our number one-selling dish 🐓

From Stasi, our wine buyer and the person who curated our current wine list:
“Central Europe just called for you, and she has a lot to say. Be it hazy orange, esoteric takes on classic reds, or bracing grüners blends, she has the range.”

Spring menu is officially here. This season we’re introducing new dishes alongside variations of classics we’ve been working to refine.
The Laffa Flatbread starts with incredible dough from our neighbors . We grill it, finish it briefly in the oven, then spread it with matbucha, anchovies, za’atar, and pecorino.
We’ve also got a fresh salad of pea shoots and little gem with Medjool dates, fava beans, radishes, and Fiore Sardo, finished with a sprinkle of fried onion.
In the flavor bomb department, our seasonal bureka is stuffed with lamb neck cooked for 15 hours, caramelized onions, and crème fraîche. We serve it with a dollop of yogurt and dried mint.
We also just received a small allocation from Domaine des Marnes Blanches (Jura, France)—beautiful bottles and very limited, so first come, first served.
That’s just a little taste of the new menu. Come try it 🌿

Chilled Gamay ( ) and our hanger steak.
The steak is 8 oz and sits on top of escarole sautéed with garlic, white wine, and guanciale.
We know it’s been hard to get a table lately — we’re sorry about that. The best way is to book on at least 3 weeks in advance. We’re always happy to answer DMs and emails about reservations, but whatever is available on is what we have.
Thank you so much for the support and for coming back ❤️
