On Thursday, we will be serving Thanksgiving dinner to those less fortunate than ourselves for the 21st year. It's the only Thanksgiving celebration my daughters know and it's long been their favorite holiday. One of my daughters set up a way to make donations via gofundme. Wishing everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving - Ira and everyone at The Comfort Diner

Our 20th year of feeding homeless families (from 2 NYC shelters) a Thanksgiving dinner along with a visit from Santa complete with gifts is in grave danger. It seems as though NYC won't pay overtime for a shelter employee to accompany them. Does anyone know how to reach the mayor or otherwise prevent this from happening?

What people say
Comfort Diner, located on East 45th Street in New York, is a diner that takes you back to the golden age of diners. But what sets this diner apart from others is its commitment to giving back to the community. For the past 21 years, Comfort Diner has been serving Thanksgiving dinner to those less fortunate than themselves. This tradition has become a favorite holiday for the owner's daughters and they even set up a way to make donations via gofundme.
In addition to their charitable efforts, Comfort Diner also offers unique milkshake flavors during their annual "Milkshake Madness" event in August. From classics like The Creamsicle to more adventurous flavors like Tuna Noodle Casserole (made with Ben & Jerry's Phish Food ice cream, a long hollow noodle for the straw and Swedish fish for garnish), there is something for everyone's taste buds.
But at its core, Comfort Diner is a classic American restaurant that serves up delicious comfort food in a cozy atmosphere. So whether you're stopping by for breakfast, lunch or dinner, you'll leave feeling satisfied and happy knowing that you supported a business that gives back to the community.
