Thanks to the generosity from all of you, last Friday was a very special day for our team! We passed out cash payments equal to 50% of the usual paycheck to the most affected members of our Kitchen Staff. They were overjoyed with this gesture and deeply moved by strangers coming together and giving so openly. I want to extend a special thank you to Steven Collins and Micaela Saxer, both of whom have helped me with this campaign. We will be doing the same again this Friday, and every Friday until the funds run out! Here is a photo sharing some of the smiles:

Dear Faithful Supporters,
Hudson Clearwater, like most restaurants in New York City, has been hit hard by the Covid -19 pandemic which caused us to temporarily close our doors.
The strong family we have built over ten years is now reaching out to you, our supportive community, to raise funds for our most financially vulnerable individuals, our Kitchen Team.
We ask you to open your heart and support those most in need at a time when solidarity with one another is the key for our collective well being. As helpless as we all feel right now, there are real opportunities to assist those in our immediate community where even the smallest donations will have a huge impact.
Our Kitchen Team is the backbone of our restaurant. Like a family, we must take care of one another, and to do so, we need your help to offset their lost income. 100% of the proceeds raised will be donated directly to our Kitchen Team. Please consider a donation to help our family. Every single dollar counts.

Happy to find ourselves in good NYC company on this shortlist translated from Norway's largest daily newspaper :

Hudson Clearwater - Unpretentious and Pleasant:

An infinite gate in West Village may seem unappealing, but once you enter the doors of this restaurant you will soon be warm.
Best and nicest restaurants, here's the top mood, says my friend New York connoisseur. There is something for everyone on the menu, such as ribs, duck breasts and pasta."

Nine years of cold January Mondays wearing on these good old bones has me remembering Mr. Frost:
"Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference."
