Before your bowl of authentic Hakata-style ramen hits the table, there’s one non-negotiable starter 🍤✨

In 2008, we opened our doors in the East Village as the first-ever IPPUDO in New York City. Over 18 years later, our East Village flagship is still perfecting every single detail on the menu.

Case in point: our classic Shrimp Bun just got a house-made upgrade. We’re pairing golden jumbo shrimp tempura with a fresh, house-made tartar sauce, tucked inside a pillow-soft steamed bao with crisp lettuce.

It’s the ultimate crunch contrast to a rich, simmering bowl of Tonkotsu—and an absolute must-have for lunch or dinner in Manhattan NYC.

Reservations are encouraged but walk-ins are always welcome, or place a pickup/delivery order via the link in our bio 🥢

The pioneers of NYC’s ramen boom. 👑🍜

Before 2008, ramen in the US was often seen as just a quick, casual bite. Then, we opened the doors to our East Village flagship and changed the culinary landscape forever.

Founded by the globally renowned “Ramen King,” Shigemi Kawahara, Ippudo arrived in New York City with a mission to elevate ramen into a true dining experience. We brought authentic Hakata-style tonkotsu, our signature “Zuzutto” slurping culture, and unparalleled Japanese hospitality to the heart of the city.

Reading these incredible reviews reminds us of the legacy we have built together. Over 15 years later, our dedication to crafting that perfect, soul-warming bowl—with its rich broth and perfectly chewy noodles—remains as fierce as day one.

Whether you have been slurping with us since 2008 or you are planning your very first visit, we are honored to be a piece of NYC dining history.

Back in 2008, Ippudo brought the very first authentic Hakata-style Tonkotsu to the East Village. That flagship opening was a massive milestone in our ongoing mission to share authentic Japanese ramen culture not just with New York, but with the entire world. 🌍

From those original lines out the door to our continued global expansion today, our passion for serving the perfect bowl never stops. We couldn’t have done it without the love from our local NYC community and our fans across the globe.

Ramen restaurants have become increasingly popular in recent years, and Ippudo New York on 4th Avenue is one of the best. Their Tonkotsu ramen is a must-try for any ramen lover, and it's no surprise that it has won over the hearts of millions across the USA. But Ippudo New York isn't just about their ramen - their fluffy buns are also a match made in foodie heaven. Soft, pillowy, and bursting with flavorful fillings, each bite is a delightful explosion of taste.

One of their latest creations, the Hanami Ramen, utilizes their new Pork Shoulder Loin Chashu to give the ramen a deeper flavor. And for those who prefer vegetarian options, their Nirvana Classic Ramen is a delicious choice. It's a vegetarian ramen with flavors of umami that uses exclusive Japanese Soy Milk to create a mushroom-infused broth and served with Tokyo-style Thick Wavy Noodles and pan-fried carrot.

But it's not just about the food at Ippudo New York - they also know how to create an atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. Whether you're celebrating Mother's Day or just starting off your weekend in a "BUN-tastic" mood, they have something for everyone. And if you're looking for something spicy, their updated "Karaka Spicy" Ramen will definitely kick up the heat.

Overall, Ippudo New York on 4th Avenue is an excellent choice for anyone looking for delicious ramen and buns in a welcoming atmosphere. With so many tasty options to choose from, it's no wonder why they've become one of the most popular ramen restaurants in town!
