Un cumpleaños dominicano no empieza con el pastel. Empieza en la cocina, con el aceite caliente, las bandejas llenas, y alguien diciendo “prueba uno” antes de que lleguen los invitados. Los pastelitos desaparecen primero. Los quipes, crujientes por fuera y suaves por dentro, no duran mucho más.
