Over forty years ago, Giuseppe (Joe) and Maria Ruscigno opened a small shop in the heart of Little Italy in the Bronx in New York. Ten years later, they moved Joe’s Italian Deli into its present location, which is three times larger than the original store. Today, Joe and Maria’s son, Anthony, continues the culinary traditions of Italy, passed down to him from previous generations.

Our Italian deli features exceptional imported Italian items like pastas, oils, cheese, pastries, meats and fresh, homemade food that showcases the Southern Italy recipes that Joe and Maria learned from their parents.

While the original purpose of our establishment was to serve its Italian neighborhood, times have changed and so have we. Our neighborhood has transformed into that of a multi-cultural one. We are pleased to be able to also offer unique products to meet the needs of a variety of cultures.

While we’ve welcomed new traditions, the one thing we haven’t changed is our famous homemade fresh mozzarella. We never get tired of hearing customers tell us that it’s the best mozzarella they’ve ever eaten!

We are open seven days a week to serve our loyal customers the finest Italian products and cuisine at the most reasonable prices. Everything is made fresh daily.
