A little trip down memory lane… 🇳🇴🍻
Back to 1995, when Soccer Tavern was known by many as a little piece of Norway right here in Brooklyn. These photos were recently shared with us by Ryan Elvvang whose father Hans, was part of those days and the memories made here.
Fast forward more than 30 years, and this year Ryan made his first visit to Soccer Tavern himself — bringing the story full circle.
A lot has changed over the years, but there’s something pretty special about seeing the people, stories, and memories that have passed through these doors.

Soccer Tavern is a hidden gem in the heart of Brooklyn's 8th Avenue Chinatown Sunset Park. This Irish pub has been around since the prohibition era in 1929, and it still retains its old-school charm. The bar's owner and manager, Brendan Farley, has been a friendly face in the neighborhood since 1986 when he immigrated from Ireland. He welcomes everyone to come and have a good time at Soccer Tavern.
The bar's decor is reminiscent of a bygone era, with linoleum floors and wood paneling that transport you back to a time when bars were a casual place to unwind with friends after a long day. The dart tournament trophies lined up against the back wall add to the bar's nostalgic feel.
