Today is German Beer Day (Tag des Deutschen Bieres). It is celebrated annually on April 23rd to commemorate the anniversary of the Reinheitsgebot (Beer Purity Law), enacted on this day in 1516 in Bavaria. It celebrates the tradition of using only water, hops, and barley (later yeast) in brewing.

We’ve slightly adjusted our initial idea given your feedback. While there was no interest in a knitting class (you don’t know what you’re missing, but 🤷♀️), some of you are excited to gather with likeminded, right here in your neighborhood, with a 🍺 in hand. We’re therefore reserving a table for exactly you, but will keep the Yarn Queen Z**i at home, at least for now. So let’s keep the communication going and potentially tweak future meetups. Prost!

Hasenstüble is the business of an immigrant woman (with a plushie bunny) and while we stand in solidarity with MN, with immigrants everywhere and with everyone participating in today’s national strike, Hasenstüble will remain open. Between ‘Dry January’ and the crazy cold weather, this month has already been hard on most small businesses and we can’t afford to close. BUT we will donate 10% of today’s proceeds to the NY Legal Assistance Group. Thank you for your continued support, and happy Friday!
