Check Out The Wall Street Journal's highlight of Brick Lane's 10 chili curry called PHAAL and the "PHAAL Challenge"
Phaal, which contains 10 different chilies and emits so much heat that chefs wear a protective mask while making it, first appeared on Brick Lane's menu in 2002, but an appearance on the Travel Channel's Man v. Food show in 2008 put it on the map.

To reach East 6th Street in New York, you can take the subway and get off at Astor Place Station on the 6 line. From there, head east on East 8th Street and turn left onto Avenue B. Walk two blocks and turn right onto East 6th Street.
If you are driving, take FDR Drive and exit at Houston Street. Continue on Houston Street until you reach Avenue B and turn left. Drive two blocks and turn right onto East 6th Street. There is limited street parking available in the area, but there are also several paid parking garages nearby.
For alternative public transport options, you can take the M14A or M14D bus routes which run along East 14th Street with stops near Avenue B. Additionally, the M15 route runs up First Avenue with a stop at East 5th Street which is just one block away from Bricklane Curry House's location on East 6th street.
