We never chased rankings. We chased connection.
Being named among New York’s top restaurants feels beautiful, but what matters most are the people who walked through our doors, shared their stories, and let us become part of their lives.
This recognition belongs to every cook who showed up tired, every server who carried a smile, and every guest who treated this place like home.
Thank you for believing in us, for feeding our purpose, and for reminding us that food is never just food. It is love, memory, and community.
Thankful and grateful to you all, elenani

Last night Al Badawi in Brooklyn Heights was broken into. The glass was shattered with a rock around 2:16 a.m. on the first day of October.
This isn’t about race. The individual wasn’t Black, but the truth is hunger doesn’t know color. Survival doesn’t ask what background you come from.
People steal because society has failed them. When jobs are scarce, when opportunities are out of reach, when you’re hungry and desperate, you do what it takes to get by. It’s not about evil, it’s about survival.
We need to do better; first as a government, and second as people. We need to show kindness, compassion, and empathy. To feel for one another and to step in when someone is in pain.
So, to the man who broke in last night: I forgive you. I can only imagine the level of desperation you were in. If you are reading this, know that a job is waiting for you. You don’t need to say your name or show your face. Just fill out a contact form on ananigroup.com and I promise, I will take care of you.
Because at the end of the day, we rise when we lift each other. Stay safe out there and dont mess up another person's day, you didnt mess up mine you just brought me back to my awareness to check on my neigbors before going to sleep and to make sure the ones around me are good.
With love and forgiveness,elenani

Right by the , thank you to (especially kelly) for their incredible support in getting this sign up at the last minute. Located right by the bustling at the corner of 4th Ave and Atlantic a few blocks away from the restaurant, it shines as a sign of warmth and community exactly what is about.
A special shoutout to Essa from , who pioneered this idea years ago. Whoever doesn't know or isn't very familiar with the bayridge area, let's just say Balady is probably the best Palestinian/ Middle Eastern market in the country. Definitely visit if you haven't.
Happy Ramadan from our family to yours. ❤️🙏❤️
