A tricycle. A community garden. A wedding. π€
During COVID, the bride walked to our Lenox Avenue store for a cup of blueberry cheesecake ice cream during one of the hardest seasons many of us have ever lived through. This weekend, she and her partner included us in their celebration of love.
We scooped through cocktail hour, which they called an ice cream social, and watched a community of people celebrate two people who chose each other β and chose us to be part of it.
This is one of the reasons we do what we do.

Everything about this picture of at our store on Lenox Ave makes us happy β from the fact that one of our neighbors took it (with permission) and sent it to us, to the fact that we were on Sheryl Lee Ralphβs radar. It speaks to the dreams we held when we opened almost nine years ago: to be a place for neighbors and a destination for visitors coming to Harlem. Our heart is full.

NYC banana pudding fansβ¦ youβve been doing it wrong. π
Okay, not wrong β but you havenβt had it like this.
We donβt just toss banana and cookies into ice cream and call it a day. We take ripe banana, velvety pudding-style cream, and Nilla wafers, layer them all together, then dice it up and fold those chunks back into every bucket. π¦
Translation: actual banana pudding, in scoopable form, made by hand in Harlem.
