What people say
Mexican restaurants are known for their vibrant and bold flavors, and Cruz del Sur on Washington Avenue in New York City is no exception. This Mexican restaurant offers a wide range of traditional dishes that will transport you straight to Guadalajara. One must-try dish is the Torta Ahogada, a sandwich filled with pork carnitas and red onions that's dipped in a red chile sauce and served with fresh lime wedges.
Cruz del Sur also has an impressive drink menu, including the classic margarita, which is perfect for happy hour. Speaking of happy hour, Cruz del Sur offers it every weekday from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, making it an ideal spot for after-work drinks or weekend gatherings with friends and family.
For those who love spicy food, Cruz del Sur has got you covered. They offer a variety of dishes that pack a punch of heat and flavor. And if you're looking for something refreshing to wash down all that spice, try their Agua de Horchata, one of the most beloved and traditional Mexican aguas frescas.
Cruz del Sur caters to all dietary needs by offering vegan options like Vegan Chorizo and Crispy Potato Tacos made with gluten-free tortillas. Plus, they recently opened for lunch service on Tuesdays through Fridays from 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm and on Saturdays from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm. On Sundays, they close at 9:00 pm.
Overall, Cruz del Sur is an excellent choice for anyone looking for authentic Mexican cuisine in New York City. The food is delicious, the drinks are refreshing, and the atmosphere is welcoming - making it a great spot for any occasion!
