To all of our friends: As many of you know, we have made the difficult descision to close the doors at The Buttery. With growing inflation, the rising cost of goods paired with the already razor thin margins that restaurants have, our small business has become unsustainable.
Words will never be enough to express how grateful we are to Greenpoint and the quirky community that has supported us over the last 4 years. We hope you’ll come say goodbye this weekend and at our farewell party on Sunday February 2nd from 5-8.
There are too many people to thank, but we’d like to acknowledge a few:
We are forever indebted to who built our beautiful space with his own hands. The care to detail and love that you feel when you enter the Buttery is entirely because of him.
To our wonderful staff who have been with us along the way.
To the regulars who became friends and family, who treated us as a second home, thank you for loving us as much as we love you.
To all the book girlies who embraced our vision *especially * - The Buttery was magic because you believed it was.
Our trivia and book events will live on at our sister bar, , opening soon in Williamsburg on Kent Ave- keep an eye out here for news.
And to everyone else who ever dined, drank, celebrated, wrote a nice review or came back again- thank you.
Each of these things are singular and also symbiotic. It takes a village, and how lucky were we to have this one 🖤

Come prove your worthy of a dragon and test your knowledge of all thing Empyrean at Forth Wing & Iron Flame trivia on Tuesday, August 27th where you’ll get to *attempt* to survive threshing, and go head to head with other shadow-daddy fanatics. But don’t worry, despite the steep competition, we don’t let the cadets spar here.
We’ll have 5 rounds of dragon-riding trivia, with themed drinks, and surprises along the way 🐉

We’re taking a field trip, and we want you to come with! Who better to time travel with than other book girlies and goblins? Come along for the adventure with us: bus leaves at 9am on Saturday, September 28th (don’t be late), we’ll have snacks and draaanks (😉) AND WATER on the luxury bus, plus trivia and games for the ride to and from! Once we arrive, you’re free to frolic as you please until our chariot comes to es**rt us back to Brooklyn.
Your tickets include admission to the faire, round trip transportation on our luxury bus, plus all of the to-and-fro bus merriment!

To reach Driggs Avenue in New York by public transport, take the G train to the Nassau Avenue station and walk two blocks west to Driggs Avenue. Alternatively, take the B62 bus to Driggs Avenue and Manhattan Avenue.
If you are driving to Driggs Avenue, take McGuinness Boulevard and turn onto Calyer Street. Drive for 5 blocks before turning left onto Driggs Avenue. There is street parking available on Driggs Avenue as well as nearby streets.
