KazuNori: The Original Hand Roll Bar is now open in Union Square (125 University Place, New York, NY 10003, just south of Union Square)!!

KazuNori opened in 2014 and is the first restaurant of its kind, creating the very idea of a hand roll bar.

KazuNori features four different hand roll menus, sashimi, beer and sake. Named after celebrated sushi chef Kazunori Nozawa who introduced the cylindrical-style hand roll to the United States over 40 years ago — KazuNori serves hand rolls made with only the freshest fish, along with specially harvested seaweed, house made sauces, and signature warm rice.

“We are so excited to bring our hand roll bar to the Union Square neighborhood,” says co-founder Tom Nozawa. “Grab a seat at one-of-two hand roll bars and enjoy Nozawa’s signature warm rice, the highest quality fish all wrapped together in crisp nori!”

The lofty location features the restaurant's signature solid oak countertops along with a bar inspired by Japanese menu boards where guests can see their hand rolls being made and most importantly, enjoy them while the seaweed is at its best.
