Her go-to suit from her wardrobe. A Pucci blouse, from the designer she loved. Three books from her own library. And inside the desk at the center of her office, the paperwork of a woman running her own company, with scripts, contracts, and call sheets.
Each object is a small piece of evidence of that Marilyn authored herself with purpose.

At the center of Manifesting Marilyn is Marilyn's executive desk, reimagined as the place where she founded Marilyn Monroe Productions in 1954.
Inside, her phone book of famous friends, annotated by hand. Script sides from “The Misfits” labeled for her, where she would write notes in the margins. Her SAG card. A call sheet from “Something's Got to Give.”

The Manifesting Marilyn exhibition echoes throughout all spaces at Genesis House.
Through August 2, the restaurant tells Marilyn Monroe’s story at the table.
Beginning with “The Rewrite,” a traditional Korean dish, tangpyung-chae, reinterpreted. Transparent on the surface, layered underneath, it rewards a second look.
And “Before the Flash,” Korean pear, yuja, ginger, and chili. Spirit-free, named for the moment before the cameras find you.
Then “Greenlit,” pistachio cheesecake in a honey yakgwa crust, sealed in a the light green color she loved, and topped in gold.

To mark Manifesting Marilyn, our new immersive exhibition timed to Marilyn Monroe's centennial, we've composed a menu inspired by the icon.
“The Centennial,” her favorite champagne, with soju, finished ruby red. “Some Like It Hot,” a zero-proof pour of Korean pear, yuja, ginger, and Cheongyang chili. “The Rewrite,” chilled tangpyung-chae, a Korean court dish of mungbean jelly with squid, scallop, and mustard. And “Greenlit,” pistachio cheesecake on a yakgwa crust, sealed in light green, the color of her dreams, and topped with gold.
