Stirred, strained, and ice-cold. Tyson Buhler’s () Reef Break is a martini that drafts off tropical cocktails without giving up its spirit-forward bones.

Vodka leads the way, passion fruit, cinnamon, and a touch of demerara rum lean tropical, and fino sherry steps in for vermouth to keep things dry. At Death & Co, we batch and freeze Reef Break for service, but here we’ve adapted it for a single stirred drink.

Blind Item is an early crowd favorite on Death & Co Denver’s summer menu.

This fresh take on a martini combines and Luzhou Laojiao Baijiu with dry vermouth, tropical fruit, and absinthe — bright, fragrant fruit giving way to herbaceous complexity.

Unexpected, layered, and worth a closer look. Make a reservation and try it (and the entire new summer menu!) for yourself via the link in bio.

Starting today and throughout the summer, we’ll be spotlighting our favorite Death & Co drinks for the season.

First up: ’s Buko Gimlet: a tropical gin sour inspired by buko pandan — a Filipino dessert built around coconut and fragrant pandan leaves. The result is one of the most refreshing drinks we know.

Get the full recipe over on Death & Co Market. Link in bio.

*Note: To make pandan syrup, add 100ml boiling water to 10g pandan leaves (available in Asian markets) and let steep for 15 to 20 minutes, then strain. Combine the liquid with 200g cane sugar in a blender and blend until the sugar has dissolved. Bottle and refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.

What people say

Death & Co. is a must-visit cocktail bar and restaurant located on E 6th Street in New York. The establishment has gained a reputation for its innovative and delicious cocktails, as well as its exceptional food menu. The bar's zero-proof Genesis cocktail is a standout, featuring rosemary, thyme, and wormwood in a fresh and sour non-alcoholic "bianco" aperitif. For those looking for something stronger, the Foxtrot Martini by Amanda Harbour is a perfect choice, with mezcal, tequila, menthe-pastille, dry vermouth, and blanc vermouth all expertly blended together. The ambiance of Death & Co. is also noteworthy - while the bar's candlelit interior is enchanting year-round, the summer months allow guests to savor the sunsetting hours in the light-filled space. Overall, Death & Co. offers an unforgettable experience that should not be missed by anyone visiting New York City.
