✨ Deeply Honored & Grateful ✨
As we are nearing end of 2025, I wanted to take a moment and acknowledge all the good things that happened this year and yes phone photos are our digital memory bank :)
January, I received a Citation from New York City and also a Certificate of Recognition from the New York City Council for the work I’ve been blessed to do in our community 😍
New York is unlike any other place in the world.
A city built by immigrants, enriched by cultures from every corner of the globe, and held together by people who show up for one another.
It’s a place where stories, traditions, and dreams mix into something powerful — something uniquely New York.
And being able to serve in a community this vibrant, this diverse, and this full of heart is the greatest honor.
This recognition is not mine alone.
It belongs to everyone who supported, encouraged, and trusted me along the way.
Serving this beautiful mosaic of people is a privilege I hold close to my heart that creates a sense of belonging.
Thank you, NYC Council, and thank you to this incredible city that feels like home to all of us. Thank you for considering me worthy of this recognition.
Your love, strength, trust and unity inspire me every day.
With gratitude,
Swetha Raju

🌿✨ New Beginnings ✨☕️
From selling our very first dosas to the amazing journey of Brooklyn Curry Project, your love has carried us further than we ever imagined. 💛
We are overjoyed to share our next chapter with you: Filter Kaapi - NYC s first South Indian cafe !
This cozy little café is our love letter to South India and our way of saying thank you to this beautiful community that feels like family. 🫶
We will be serving freshly brewed filter coffee with the beans sourced directly from small farms grown in the lush hills of Chikmagalur, alongside soft idlis, flaky egg puffs, honey cakes and other nostalgic bites with seasonal specials that taste like childhood.
None of this would have been possible without this beautiful community that embraced us, encouraged us, and made Brooklyn feel like family. From selling our first dosas to now opening doors to Filter Kaapi, our hearts are full of gratitude.
We can’t wait to welcome you, pour you a hot tumbler of kaapi, and continue sharing the flavors and comfort of home with all of you.
Here’s to new beginnings, shared memories, and many cups of kaapi together! 🌿☕️

Brooklyn curry project and the Filter Kaapi Family

We are back !
Vacation’s over, the lights are on, and the kitchen is alive again. But this week is extra special — my parents are visiting, and together we’ve created a special menu that brings our family’s favorite recipes to your table.
These are the dishes that shaped my love for food — the flavors of home, passed down, stirred with stories, and served with love.
We’d be so happy to share them with you.
Come by, say hello, and taste something a little more personal this week at Brooklyn Curry Project.
Serving Amma’s special menu this weekend only along with dosas !

“A sense of belonging” is a powerful emotional experience—it’s the feeling that you’re accepted, valued, and connected within a group or community or relationship. We are glad to find ourselves being a part of this wonderful and vibrant community far away from home 😍
Thank you for having us in your special day and congratulations to you both 🎉🍾.

🌶️ 4 Years of Flavor, Fire & Family – Thank You, Brooklyn! 🌶️
Today we celebrate 4 years of Brooklyn Curry Project — a journey that began with a single simmering pot and a dream to bring soulful, spice-kissed comfort to our neighborhood.
What started as a tiny pop-up has grown into a flavor-forward movement — one dosa, one curry bowl, one warm smile at a time.
From late-night prep to early market mornings, from 10 dosas a day to 250, your support has been everything. You’ve shown up hungry, curious, and full of love — and we’re endlessly grateful.
To our team, our farmers, our community — thank you for letting us serve you, nourish you, and grow with you.
Here’s to more bold flavors, more community, and more memories.
